New PCB: Gigawing - Capcom, CPS2

Pretty stoked on getting this finally. I seemed to miss every one that came up on shmups for sale. This worked out in that I traded a few things and some cash for it after I ofered up my Strahl pcb for trade - so I got to keep Strahl!

The reason there is a youtube video here is because I forgot to bring home my US board to play this on, so its chilling outside my cab for a bit until I snag it from work. I'll have it all put together for the meet, dates of which will be announced soon...

Congrats on the new get! This one often times has me pulling my hair out during the later levels - it's so frustrating, but still an intensely fun game. Have you ever played the sequel "Gigawing Generations"?

I did a few years back at Dave K's place - I really don't remember it though other than its a vert. Should have my mobo back tomorrow and ill be ready to fire this sucker up!

Giga - waaannggg!

I tried Generations waaayyy back when I was still rockin with a JP PS2. Cool that it was vertical, but just didn't have the same feel.

Nice grab!

Did I see a reference to a meet? (giggles and gets giddy)

Welcome to the modern age? I don't think Takumi had a single flop. Oh, my Dreamcast says 'Hey.' too.

Never bought a Dreamcast. :) And the only other Takumi game I think I have played was Twin Cobra II, which was pretty mediocre.

And after a weeks worth of play, I'm still learning the first handful of stages in the game. It's strange, but there are quite a few times when I die and I'm not sure what killed me. I have has some good games and pretty high multipliers, but most of my progression is luck and it doesn't feel like posting a high score is worth it until I start getting some patterns down and understand the bullet/enemy physics.
